Business Issue:                          

In 1999, IT personnel at Burke, Inc. (which had previously managed its own data storage) were seeking collocation services for its critical business data in a third party data center facility.

Because the company had an established relationship with CBTS through previous storage hardware purchases and was more than satisfied with its existing Voice over IP (VoIP) communications solution and associated Managed Services provided from CBTS, Burke Inc. investigated collocation services offered in a CBTS’ Tier 3 Data Center.

Burke’s strict data requirements for a secure and robust data center demanded redundant power, bandwidth, multi-level security, and a 24x7x365 trained staff.

To meet these requirements and to limit capital expenditure for additional data storage and network infrastructure, Burke wanted to leverage an existing third party facility.

IT Solutions Provided by CBTS:

CBTS provides Colocation Services for Burke’s two full cabinets in its Tier 3 Data Center. Features include flexibility in choosing space and services, multi-layered physical and virtual security measures, interconnectivity, bandwidth, environmental stability, and robust power. The facility offers 100% redundancy of its power systems from the point where they enter the building until they reach the cabinets and two separate power connections which are individually fed by the two separate power systems. All cabinets are grounded to building ground and are protected by anti-static mats and anti-static floor tiles.

To ensure the safety of its data in the state-of-the-industry facility, Burke also employs CBTS backup architecture.
